Why Great Economic News for American Workers Should Continue
“Friday brought more great economic news: higher-than-expected jobs growth in August, as well as a solid rise in wages — all with unemployment remaining at record lows. Manufacturing activity just hit its highest level since May 2004, and consumer confidence is at an 18-year high. And there’s good reason to think it’ll keep up,” the New York Post editorial board writes.
Last month’s annual wage hike was the largest since June 2009.

In The Daily Signal, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) writes that Democratic opposition to Judge Brett Kavanaugh isn't working. “In the face of a coordinated effort by opponents to derail the hearing, Kavanaugh was unflappable, showcasing his deep understanding of case law and legal precedent, his judicial independence, and his unwavering fidelity to the Constitution.”

“The EPA’s recently announced Affordable Clean Energy rule, replacing former President Barack Obama’s Clean Power Plan, is the most significant shift towards energy sanity in more than a decade,” Rupert Darwall writes in the Washington Examiner. Darwall explains that “Americans want cheap American energy, and that’s exactly what Trump is giving them.”

In The Hill, Heartland Institute healthcare expert Sarah Lee writes that in response to Obamacare’s rising premiums, President Trump is giving American families much needed relief by lowering drug costs. “Thanks to the efforts of the Trump administration, hundreds of thousands of schoolchildren and their parents can rest a little easier this fall.”
