Justice Kennedy, in President Trump's words

The White House to you
Friday, June 29, 2018

The White House • June 28, 2018

The Day Ahead
President Donald J. Trump will participate in the groundbreaking of a new Foxconn plant that will bring 15,000 jobs to Mt. Pleasant, Wisconsin. Watch live at 1:25 p.m. ET.
Justice Kennedy, in President Trump's words
Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, appointed by President Reagan more than three decades ago, announced yesterday that he will retire from the bench next month. Justice Kennedy has been a tireless voice for individual rights and the Founders' vision of limited government.
"He is a man that I've known for a long time and a man that I've respected for a long time. He's been a great justice of the Supreme Court. He is a man who is displaying great vision," President Trump said, thanking Justice Kennedy for his many years of service. "We will begin our search for a new justice of the United States Supreme Court. That will begin immediately."
Watch: President Trump speaks about Justice Kennedy before a bilateral meeting with President Rebelo de Sousa of Portugal.
Robert Wilkie is the right choice for our veterans
The Senate held its confirmation hearing yesterday for Lt. Colonel Robert Wilkie, President Trump's choice to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Under Wilkie's leadership as Acting Secretary, the VA worked with Congress to pass the VA MISSION Act, making it easier for our veterans to obtain care and opening up the VA Caregiver Program to pre-9/11 veterans.
Wilkie has devoted decades of service to the Nation, both as a member of the military and as a government employee. The son of a wounded combat soldier, he understands the crucial role the VA plays for America's veterans and their families. "We are confident that Wilkie, a veteran of both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force, has the credentials and experience to lead the second largest government agency," Vietnam Veterans of America says.
Learn more about why Robert Wilkie is the right choice for veterans.
Video of the day: The President's message to America's future
More than 100 young Americans joined President Trump yesterday for a discussion about key issues facing our country. "Each of you represent the future of this nation. You aren't afraid to speak the truth and the truth as you know it, and to stand up for what you know is right, even if it means being politically incorrect on occasion," the President said.

Thanks To Tax Cuts, Companies' Overseas Profits Now Flooding Back To U.S.

The White House to you
Thursday, June 28, 2018

Thanks To Tax Cuts, Companies' Overseas Profits Now Flooding Back To U.S. “They said it wouldn't happen, but it did: The money companies stashed overseas to protect them from high U.S. corporate tax rates is flooding back in, boosting growth, jobs and confidence in the economy. Thank the Trump tax cuts,” writes the Investor’s Business Daily Editorial Board. “Yet the befuddled media keep calling these bullish economic data ‘unexpected.’”  Click here to read more.

“The prospects for peace [between the Israelis and Palestinians] are very much alive,” White House Senior Advisor Jared Kushner says in an interview with Al-Quds. Kushner, who recently met with Arab leaders across the Middle East, says “I believe that Palestinian people are less invested in the politicians’ talking points than they are in seeing how a deal will give them and their future generations new opportunities.”
------------
In The Daily Signal, Fred Lucas writes that President Trump’s nominee to run the Department of Veterans Affairs, Lt. Colonel Robert Wilkie, will bring a renewed focus on “accountability and allowing more choice for care.” Steven Bucci, a former Army Special Forces officer and Pentagon official, explains that “Robert is a great selection after running personnel and readiness at the Pentagon.”
------------
“Thanks to the president’s resolve and leadership, we now have a historic opportunity to rid the Korean Peninsula of the threat of nuclear weapons and see a different future,” Rep. Martha McSally (R-AZ) writes in The Washington Times. “Take it from someone who’s been ready to deploy at a moment’s notice and recently crossed the DMZ — this time, it’s different.”

'A moment of profound vindication'

The White House to you
Thursday, June 28, 2018

The White House • June 27, 2018
The Day Ahead
President Donald J. Trump will address members of the Millennial and Gen Z cohorts for a discussion about America's future at the White House. Watch live at 12:15 p.m. ET.
'A moment of profound vindication'

Yesterday, the Supreme Court upheld President Trump's travel restrictions and enhanced vetting for a small number of countries that failed to meet a Department of Homeland Security standard for public safety. The 2017 Proclamation cites Chad, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen as being inadequate on one or more risk-management factors.
"It is the duty of the government to ensure that those seeking to enter our country will not harm the American people," the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement yesterday. "While we have the most generous immigration system in the world, it has repeatedly been exploited by terrorists and other malicious actors who seek to do us harm."
President Trump called the ruling a "tremendous victory for the American people and for our Constitution" during a meeting with Republican lawmakers yesterday. "This ruling is also a moment of profound vindication following months of hysterical commentary from the media and Democratic politicians," the President added in a statement. "As long as I am President, I will defend the sovereignty, safety, and security of the American People."
More: See the facts about the Proclamation on travel restrictions and vetting.
President Trump presents the Medal of Honor
"
Today, we tell the story of an incredible hero who defended our nation in World War II, First Lieutenant Garlin Murl Conner," President Trump said from the East Room of the White House yesterday. "Although he died 20 years ago, today he takes his rightful place in the eternal chronicle of American valor."
Lt. Conner came from a farm near Albany, Kentucky. He grew up during the Great Depression and dropped out of school after the 8th grade to help provide for his family. In January of 1945, during the final days of the Battle of the Bulge, Lt. Conner snuck out of a field hospital in Northern France where he was being treated for wounds. He volunteered to go to the front lines—30 yards in front of the American line, in fact—to help direct fire.
"In front of the lone American soldier were six German tanks and hundreds of German soldiers," President Trump said. Lt. Conner "saved so many American lives" that day.

Supreme Court Rules that President Trump’s Travel Ban Is Constitutional

The White House to you
Wednesday, June 27, 2018

Supreme Court Rules that President Trump’s Travel Ban Is Constitutional The Supreme Court found today that President Donald J. Trump’s order on travel restrictions falls “squarely” within his executive authority, Tucker Higgins reports for CNBC. “The [order] is expressly premised on legitimate purposes: preventing entry of nationals who cannot be adequately vetted and inducing other nations to improve their practices,” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for the majority.
“Our country will always be safe, secure, and protected on my watch,” President Trump said in a statement today. Click here to read more.
------------
In Fox Business, Suzanne O’Halloran writes that since President Trump signed tax cuts into law, American money is flowing back into America’s heartland. “Over $300 billion was repatriated to the U.S. in the first quarter, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) -- the most on record.”
------------
In the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, state Rep. Melissa Melendez (R-CA) writes that “instead of continuing to punt the proverbial football down the field for political gain, or pushing a radical and inhumane open borders agenda, Democrats should come to the table and fulfill their constitutional duties.”
------------
“The United States is now producing enough natural gas and other fuels to be on the verge of energy independence. This positive development is untying the hands of our elected leadership, and enabling it to conduct foreign policy in a way that advances this Nation and its allies' interests,” writes Energy Secretary Rick Perry in the Washington Examiner.
------------
“It is time to call this economy and the attendant optimism what it is: the Trump boom,” FreedomWorks President Adam Brandon writes in The Hill. “America is open for business. Most significantly, America is open for small business. Trump is the most supportive small business leader the nation has seen in recent memory.”

Never underestimate America's farmers

The White House to you
Wednesday, June 27, 2018

The White House • June 26, 2018

The Day Ahead

President Donald J. Trump will present the Medal of Honor to the late First Lt. Garlin M. Conner of Kentucky. Watch live at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Vice President Mike Pence is in Brazil, where today he will deliver a joint statement with Brazilian President Michel Temer.
Never underestimate America's farmers
"In 2011, a group of Chinese nationals dug up genetically engineered seeds from an Iowa corn field and planned to steal and send them back to China, so they could be reverse engineered," Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue begins a USA Today op-ed this week. "Those seeds, the result of years of research and millions of dollars of American investment, now stand as one of countless pieces of evidence in the case against China."
China accounts for 87 percent of counterfeit goods seized coming into the United States, and its intellectual property theft costs American innovators billions of dollars per year. A U.S. Trade Representative investigation identified several aggressive technology policies from China that put an incredible 44 million American jobs at risk.
President Trump has taken long overdue action to address China's unfair trade practices. Regrettably, China chose to retaliate, raising tariffs on $50 billion of U.S. exports. "China apparently has no intention of changing its unfair practices," President Trump said in a June 18 statement. "China might underestimate the strength and resolve of American farmers, but the president does not," Secretary Perdue writes.
President Trump will protect American farmers from China's trade retaliation.
Go deeper: How the President is standing up to China's unfair trade practices
The road ahead in the Middle East

His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan visited the White House yesterday, meeting with President Trump and thanking him for America's support in the Middle East. "If the rest of the world just took a little bit of your humility and your grace to help us, we'd be in a lot better position," King Abdullah II said.
"You have done an incredible job on the refugees and the camps and taking care of people," President Trump told the King. "The job you do on a humanitarian basis is fantastic."
The Middle East has seen great progress since the United States withdrew from the flawed Iran nuclear deal, President Trump said. Yesterday's meeting came about a week after Senior Advisor Jared Kushner and Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt met with King Abdullah II in Jordan, part of a series of meetings the U.S. officials held across the Middle East last week. Their conversations focused largely on facilitating peace between the Israelis and Palestinians.
More: To help the Middle East, a new Iran deal will require real commitments.

President Donald Trump Will Protect American Farmers from China’s Trade Retaliation

The White House to you
Tuesday, June 26, 2018

President Donald Trump Will Protect American Farmers from China’s Trade Retaliation: Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue
“President Donald Trump is standing up to China, which wrongly believes it can bully our farmers to get America to back away from defending our national interests,” Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue writes in an op-ed for USA Today. “He will not allow U.S. agriculture to bear the brunt of China’s retaliatory tactics.”  Click here to read more.
------------
The Washington Examiner Editorial Board writes that the open border ideology of Democrats and left-wing commentators “is as dangerous as it is unpopular.” The editors explain that “theoretically, we could give up on borders, as some seem to want. But that would mean giving up on having a democratic society.”
------------
A new economic survey from CNBC shows that more than half the American public approves of President Trump’s handling of the economy, Steve Liesman reports for CNBC. “The president’s economic approval rating surged 6 points to 51 percent with just 36 percent of the public disapproving, a 6 point drop from the March Survey.”
------------
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Editorial Board writes that President Trump “is forcing a re-examination of America’s trade policies, and making other countries consider the consequences of the trade war they have long waged upon us.” The editors remind readers that “America has been reflexively globalist and anti-protectionist for a long time now, and it has not worked. The Rust Belt has been impoverished.”
------------
“President Trump wants to merge the Departments of Labor and Education. That makes a lot of sense seen alongside his emphasis on apprenticeships to better equip young people with the skills needed to land good paying jobs,” economist Peter Morici writes in Fox News.
------------
In the Duluth News Tribune, Deputy Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt writes that Minnesota has vast mining potential to put “America first” and decrease dependence on foreign nations for crucial resources. “Under the direction of President Donald Trump, Interior is focusing on economic development in rural America,” Deputy Secretary Bernhardt says.

When separation is permanent

The White House to you
Tuesday, June 26, 2018

The White House • June 25, 2018

The Day Ahead
President Donald J. Trump and the First Lady will welcome Their Majesties King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan to the White House.
When separation is permanent
Joshua Wilkerson was 18 years old. "His last hours were—was brutal," his mother Laura said, describing in painful detail the horrific circumstances of her son's murder. "As everyone standing up here, none of our kids had a minute to say goodbye."
For these angel families, all of whom lost loved ones because of crime spilling across our border, President Trump vowed on Friday to keep fighting to restore rule of law. "According to a 2011 government report, the arrests attached to the criminal alien population included an estimated 25,000 people for homicide, 42,000 for robbery, nearly 70,000 for sex offenses, and nearly 15,000 for kidnapping," the President said.
"You hear the other side. You never hear this side," President Trump said. "No major networks sent cameras to their homes or displayed the images of their incredible loved ones across the nightly news. They don't do that." Instead, their suffering was met with silence.
Sabine Durden's story is worth remembering. "I'm one of your legal immigrants," she said at the White House on Friday. "It took me five years to become a citizen, a proud citizen." But when a criminal from Guatemala who didn't go through that same vetting process—and then was protected by a sanctuary city—took her son's life, her words were heartbreaking. "I couldn't protect him."
Watch: The President's weekly address on how our immigration system is broken.
Ending the Human Rights Council farce
The United Nations Humans Rights Council (HRC) has failed to live up to its purpose, serving as a shield for human rights violators and a megaphone for unfair bias against Israel. Countries with terrible human rights records are routinely elected to the HRC, and it has passed more resolutions condemning Israel than it has condemning Syria, Iran, and North Korea combined.
This Administration has taken steps to advance the cause of reform. Yet even simple efficiency proposals aimed at dealing with the Council's budget crisis have failed to win enough support. If real reforms are undertaken, America would welcome the opportunity to re-engage.
Learn more about the Administration's decision to leave the HRC.

Something to share

The Day Ahead
President Donald J. Trump will meet with "angel families" whose loved ones have been victims of crime stemming from illegal immigration. Watch live at 2:30 p.m. ET.
The President and First Lady will attend the U.S. Marine Corps Evening Parade in Washington. Watch live at 8:30 p.m. ET.
6 months after tax cuts, the real celebration is for America's workers
Six months ago today, President Trump signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act into law—the first major overhaul of the U.S. tax code since Ronald Reagan's presidency.
The law made three important changes to help workers and small businesses. First, it cut how much money the government takes out of Americans' paychecks. Second, it put U.S. employers on a level playing field with foreign competitors. Third, it eliminated dozens of special interest loopholes, raising $4 trillion in revenue by closing the door on corporate accounting tricks.
Tax cuts are one ingredient in President Trump's plan to reclaim a strong and prosperous America. After years of slow recovery, former President Obama's economic team set expectations for a new normal of sluggish growth. With the Trump Administration's policies, unemployment has fallen to 3.8 percent, its lowest level in nearly half a century.
Good news for workers is something everyone, Republican or Democrat, should celebrate.
First Lady makes a surprise visit to Texas shelter
First Lady Melania Trump traveled to McAllen, Texas, yesterday to take part in briefings at a nonprofit social services center for children who have entered the United States illegally. She thanked law enforcement and social services providers for their hard work and asked how the Administration can build upon its efforts to reunite families following President Trump's executive order.
The President reiterated his call for Congress to act. "Our First Lady is down now at the border because it really bothered her to be looking at this and to seeing it, as it bothered me, as it bothered everybody at this table," President Trump told his Cabinet. "But we need two to tango. We have 51 votes in the Senate. We need 60."
See photos from the First Lady's trip to Texas.
How President Trump is reorganizing the government
Today's executive branch is not equipped to meet Americans' 21st century needs. Job seekers have to navigate more than 40 workforce development programs across 15 federal agencies. Small businesses face overlapping bureaucratic certification processes and complicated paperwork challenges whenever they try to work with the government.
President Trump's reform and reorganization plan will change that, with the goal of making the federal government more responsive and accountable to the American people. Last year, the President signed an executive order directing the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to work on a step-by-step plan to reorganize the executive branch. Yesterday, the President discussed key reforms with members of his Cabinet.

First Lady Melania Trump Makes Surprise Visit to Texas Shelter

The White House to you
Friday, June 22, 2018

First Lady Melania Trump Makes Surprise Visit to Texas Shelter, Praises Social Workers in ‘Difficult Times’ First Lady Melania Trump “traveled to the facility in McAllen, Texas, to thank law enforcement officials and social-service providers for their hard work, and to discuss efforts to reunite families with their children,” Dave Boyer reports in The Washington Times. “She was also meeting with children between the ages of 12 and 17 who are being held at the Upbring New Hope Children’s Shelter, part of Lutheran Social Services.”
The First Lady thanked the social workers “for your heroic work that you do every day and what you do for those children.”  Click here to read more.
------------
In The Hill, OMB Deputy Director of Management Margaret Weichert explains how the Trump Administration’s plan to reorganize the federal government will better serve the American people by balancing “the mission, service and stewardship responsibilities of the executive branch, while reducing inefficiency, risk and duplication.”
------------
“A majority of voters blame the parents of the separated children at the southwestern border for the current immigration crisis, not the federal government, according to a new poll,” Jennifer Harper reports for The Washington Times. A new Rasmussen Reports survey indicates that “54 percent of likely U.S. voters say the parents are more to blame for breaking the law.”
------------
In the Washington Examiner, Jenna Ellis writes that President Trump “is not caving or reversing course, but rather is going on the record formally charging his law enforcement officers . . . with making every effort to keep families together when such action is legally available. This is a very good thing for a president to show constitutional restraint and acquiescence to the rule of law, while ordering agencies to execute the law with more compassion if and where possible.”
------------
“Thankfully, President Trump signed an executive order to stop separation of families at the border. But it's not a long-term solution. Congress does have to act,” Ned Ryun writes in The Hill. “This entire episode has really shown what Democrats and their allies in the media believe . . . They see no purpose in immigration laws and favor open-border policies.”
------------
In The Wall Street Journal, National Trade Council Director Peter Navarro writes that President Trump’s recently announced tariffs “will form a critical line of defense against predatory trade practices China has used to the detriment of American industries.”
------------
In USA Today, Acting Veterans Affairs Secretary Peter O’Rourke writes that “USA TODAY’s misleading Sunday article, ‘Secret VA nursing home ratings hide poor quality care from the public,’ is a prime example of why the phrase ‘fake news’ has gained such prominence.”

Enforcing the law while keeping families together

The White House to you
Friday, June 22, 2018

The White House • June 21, 2018

The Day Ahead

President Donald J. Trump will host a meeting of his Cabinet, focusing on much-needed government reorganization and Civil Service reform across Federal agencies.
Enforcing the law while keeping families together
President Trump signed an executive order yesterday to keep families together while they face any criminal improper entry or immigration proceedings involving their members. "We're going to have strong — very strong borders, but we're going to keep the families together," the President said from the Oval Office. "I didn't like the sight or the feeling of families being separated. It's a problem that's gone on for many years."
This executive order allows the Administration to continue to protect the border with its zero-tolerance policy while avoiding the separation of illegal alien families, to the extent the President can legally do so. Attorney General Jeff Sessions will seek an immediate modification of the Flores settlement agreement, which prevents Immigration and Customs Enforcement from detaining families together for more than 20 days.
"We believe it's a false choice between whether we are a country of law and order, a country with borders, and a country that demonstrates the compassion and the heart of the American people," Vice President Mike Pence said at the signing.
"We ask Congress to do their part," Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said. Congressional Democrats have so far refused, preferring not to undermine their larger agenda of open borders. Yesterday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) refused to do his job, saying "legislation is not the way to go here."

Manufacturers: 'This record optimism is no accident'

The President joined mining and steel workers in Duluth, Minnesota, yesterday to discuss how the Trump Administration is taking up their cause and getting people back to work. Earlier in the day, news broke that U.S. manufacturer confidence had surged to a 20-year record high: A stunning 95.1 percent of manufacturers surveyed said they have a positive outlook for their companies.
"This record optimism is no accident," said Jay Timmons, President of the National Association of Manufacturers. "It is fueled by the game-changing tax-reform passed six months ago."
Iron mining is important work in Minnesota—a $3 billion industry. Raw iron is mined from northern Minnesota's Iron Range, where it is then transported via the Duluth seaport to steel refineries throughout the United States and world. Through "America First" economic and trade policies, the Administration is giving these industries new life.

President Trump Signs Executive Order Allowing Joint Family Detention

The White House to you
Thursday, June 21, 2018

President Trump Signs Executive Order Allowing Joint Family Detention
“President Trump signed an executive order Wednesday afternoon to end the practice of separating children from parents accused of illegally crossing the border,” Steven Nelson reports in the Washington Examiner. “I didn't like the sight or the feeling of families being separated,” the President said from the Oval Office.
“The laws need to be changed,” Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen said at the signing. “We ask Congress to do their part.”
------------
“We do not want to separate parents from their children. What we want is a safe, lawful system of immigration that would end this question altogether,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions writes in USA Today. “Those who want to come to this country can and should apply legally. We have the most generous immigration laws in the world — but they should be enforced. At the Department of Justice, that is what we intend to do, and we ask Congress to be our partners in this effort.”
------------
In Business Insider, Joe Perticone reports that U.S. manufacturers are feeling record levels of confidence in their businesses, according to a new survey from the National Association of Manufacturers. “This record optimism is no accident,” NAM President Jay Timmons said in a statement. “It is fueled by the game-changing tax-reform passed six months ago.”
------------
Nelson D. Schwartz reports in The New York Times that “the number of Americans seeking Social Security disability benefits is plunging, a startling reversal of a decades-old trend that threatened the program’s solvency. It is the latest evidence of a stronger economy pulling people back into the job market or preventing workers from being sidelined in the first place.”
------------
“After more than a year of unsuccessful efforts to fix these fundamental defects, the U.S. delegation announced Tuesday our withdrawal from the council. Our country will no longer be party to this deeply flawed institution, which harms the cause of human rights more than it helps it,” writes Nikki Haley, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, in The Wall Street Journal.
------------
“On Monday, President Trump signed Space Policy Directive 3, America’s first comprehensive space traffic management policy,” Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross writes in The Washington Post. “To remain the flag of choice for commercial space activity, it is imperative that the United States lead this effort and enhance U.S.-based space activities.”
------------
In the New York Post, Dawn Sweeney, President of the National Restaurant Association, writes that the Trump Administration is giving small businesses a major healthcare boost. Sweeney explains that “the US Department of Labor finalized regulations to expand Small Business Health Plans — also known as Association Health Plans. This will help level the playing field for smaller and mid-sized businesses by allowing owners and their employees to enjoy similar health coverage benefits as large employers.”

#ChangeTheLaws

The White House to you
Thursday, June 21, 2018

The White House • June 20, 2018

The Day Ahead

President Donald J. Trump will meet with mining and steel workers in Duluth, Minnesota, to discuss how his Administration is protecting American workers. Watch live at 6:05 p.m. ET.
The President's call for action: #ChangeTheLaws
President Trump addressed the immigration crisis on America's southern border during a speech before the National Federation of Independent Businesses yesterday. "It's been going on for many, many decades and many years. And it has its ups and its downs," the President said. "And all we need is good legislation, and we can have it taken care of."
Speaking in New York, Vice President Mike Pence backed up the President's call for action. "As the President said today, we want to solve this problem. We don't want children taken away from their parents." The Vice President also stressed how the current system is a humanitarian disaster. "It is tragic that these failed immigration policies have created this incentive for vulnerable families and literally put vulnerable adults and children in danger. This is simply unacceptable."
In an editorial yesterday, National Review explained what must happen next. "Most critics don't grapple with the fact that the administration literally doesn't have the option of holding parents and kids together for more than a few weeks," the editors write. "Congress has it within its power to make it possible to hold families together and — if they don't have legitimate asylum claims — swiftly return them home together."
More: "Congress should act on the border," National Review says
U.S. leaves a 'hypocritical and self-serving organization'
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley joined Secretary of State Mike Pompeo yesterday to announce America's withdrawal from the UN Human Rights Council. "For too long, the Human Rights Council has been a protector of human rights abusers," Ambassador Haley said.
"This step is not a retreat from our human rights commitments," she added. "We take this step because our commitment does not allow us to remain a part of a hypocritical and self-serving organization that makes a mockery of human rights." Secretary Pompeo said the Council undermines America's national interest, as well as that of our allies.
Watch the announcement from Ambassador Haley and Secretary Pompeo.
Getting tough on Chinese trade: 'It's time'
This week, President Trump made it clear that America won't roll back its response to China's unfair trade practices. "Rather than altering those practices, [China] is now threatening United States companies, workers, and farmers who have done nothing wrong," the President said in a statement. "This is unacceptable. Further action must be taken."
President Trump directed the U.S. Trade Representative to identify $200 billion worth of Chinese goods for additional tariffs. After the legal process is complete, these tariffs will go into effect if China refuses to change its practices. "We have no choice. This should have been done many years ago," the President said yesterday. "They've taken so much. It's time, folks. It's time."
